Built by WPZoom, Inspiro has over 50000 active installations and a rating of 4.5 from around 100 users. It reached the milestone of 50K active users in six years. Its first edition was published in the WP repository in 2004. According to WPZoom, it is ideal for showcasing videos/photos and works with the popular page builders – Elementor and the Elementor alternative plugin Beaver.
The multipurpose themes such as Divi and Themify Ultra lets users create pages with video backgrounds and feature-rich portfolio pages. Should you use Inspiro instead of these two themes? Is the template suitable for only portfolio sites only? or you can build any type of WP website with it. Websites focused on video content can be slow. Is the template fast? Immediately after activating this template, you’ll see a big message asking you to install some plugins. Inspiro requires the following plugins to work properly:
- One-click demo import, Elementor addons, portfolio.
- Elementor.
The optional plugins that you can install are the social icons widget and Instagram widget. These two extensions are built by WPZoom. You don’t have to find and install the extensions manually. If you click on the extension name, the theme will load the official page of the plugin in a popup. You must click the install button to install the extension.
This portfolio WordPress template comes with two identical demos – one built with Elementor and another created with Gutenberg. Its Pro version comes with 9+ beautiful demos.
Homepage
The homepage of this template is very attractive. It has a “hero area”. You can enable or disable the Hero section from the WP live customizer. The Hero area can have a picture or video as a background. Inspiro lets users embed a Vimeo or YouTube video in the hero area.
The Hero section features the website name. You can change the text to something else if you don’t want to see the website name in this section. The template can also show a description and a button in the Hero section. Both these items will be displayed below the website name. The theme can open the URL linked to the Hero section button in a new tab.
Header
Inspiro comes with four different header layouts. The layouts are identical, but the position of the menubar in the header is different. Each layout features a hamburger menu icon, search icon, and social media links on the right side, and there’s a logo section on the left side.
To the left of these three items, Inspiro displays a menu bar. In layout #1, the menu bar is very close to the three items. In layout #2, it is next to the logo. Layout #3 has a menu between the logo and the three items. The header menu width in this WP template is Narrow by default. You can change the width to full width.
Inspiro can hide the search icon in the header. Its header section has the option to change the featured image size. It supports two featured image heights – fixed and fullscreen. The template’s Pro version supports two additional layouts. In these two layouts, the logo is positioned at the center.
Theme and blog layout
This WP theme supports these two blog and single post layouts – full-width and right sidebar. It can show the excerpt or the full content in the archive pages. If you don’t want to see content on archives, you can disable it.
Footer layouts
Inspiro supports eight footer layouts – out of eight, four are free i.e. available for use in the theme’s free version. For each layout, the column count is different. Layout #1 doesn’t support columns. Layouts 2, 3, and 4 have 2, 3, and 4 columns, respectively. The Pro footer layouts have a more attractive below footer section. Out of the four layouts, two layouts feature a logo. The below footer section can boast social media icons as well.
Typography settings
Inpsiro lets users manage the font of the following parts of the website:
- Body, logo, headings.
- Menu and hero area.
The theme lets users set a Google Font for the paragraph and heading text. It lets you change the font’s line height, family, weight, and size.
Colors
Inspiro supports three color schemes – light, dark, and custom. It allows users to choose a color with a color picker tool when they choose the “custom” option. From the color section, you can change the header text, hero button text/background, menu background, and footer text/background color. According to WPZoom, you’ll find more than 60 color settings in the Pro version of this template.

We tested this theme’s performance with leading website speed testing tools i.e. GTMetrix and Google Pagespeed Insights. The results were satisfactory.

Inspiro Pro edition is available for purchase at 79 dollars. Its users get pre-designed Elementor templates and can use the Portfolio module to create a stylish portfolio page. It can automatically play clips on mobile devices or when users move the mouse cursor on the video without asking you to install a third-party video player plugin. The theme supports video headers and comes with two attractive blog layouts. It lets users set gradients as background and can eliminate the void space between photos/clips of the portfolio grid.
